Reversing the Humpty Dumpty Effect: Putting the weight back where it belongs.
Many of us live top-heavy — carrying the weight of our lives in the chest and the head. We breathe shallowly. We overthink until it becomes insomnia. We brace until it becomes palpitations, anxiety, stress. Like Humpty Dumpty, perched precariously up top, we lose our foundation without noticing it's gone. This workshop, one part of Wise Orchid Coaching's wider work alongside programmes like Awaken Your Ikigai and Life Without Mask, reverses that pattern from the ground up — literally starting with the feet.
Dharma Teacher James Low often points to how we exhaust ourselves through effortful striving — trying to fix, improve, and solidify our experience rather than resting in what is already present. Reflexology brings that same understanding into the body: it isn't about correcting, but listening — restoring flow where there is stagnation, ease where there is force. A somatic mirror of what James calls simply being.
The feet are the foundation of our whole physical and energetic health. When that foundation is ignored, the effects ripple upward — weight and tension pooling into the head and chest until the whole structure feels unstable. Reflexology reads those signals and grounds the energy back down to where it belongs.
